Know why British schools have taken to Sanskrit long back. There was no compulsion for them , there were so many options on languages and surpringly many of the children taking to it are from west , so it is not driven by the Indian NRI's . There is a lot of ongoing research on Sanskrit that a simple search with the word " Sanskrit" on google scholar gives you 6.7 Lack responses. Yet in India the respect for this Divine language is very low, though things are changing slowly.
